The Earth Clock is a reproduction of the original Ball Clock, designed by Takenobu Igarashi for OUN in 1987.
 
Available in two clock-face styles and two body colors—black and white—the Earth Clock comes in two variations: The Earth Clock, featuring fine grooving across the surface, and The Earth Clock Less, with a smooth spherical body.
 
When Igarashi began designing clocks, he realized that he had never seen one in a spherical form. Inspired by the shape of the Earth, he transformed the clock into a small globe of time. The ocean, covering approximately 70% of the Earth, is represented by the spherical clock body, while the remaining 30%—the land on which we live—is expressed through the clock face beneath a transparent acrylic dome.
 
On the clock face symbolizing the land, one end of the second hand appears to chase the other as it moves continuously around the dial. This subtle detail brings a sense of movement and playfulness to the otherwise minimalist form.
