It all started with using solid walnut wood that became offcuts during the manufacturing process of making clock frames. Muku, the word for "wood" in Japanese, is a table clock born from the idea of making the most from raw materials during the manufacturing process while giving it a certain charm.
By carving out a large, rounded edge at the back to create a round shape that makes one want to pick it up, three-dimensional curves appear at the opening, giving it a soft form. The numerical indicators are not "colored" as in printed designs, but rather burnt using a branding iron. The shade of the burn and the indentations made by the branding iron vary, and this, combined with the wood grain, makes each product unique and full of character.
Muku is a desktop clock and does not have an alarm function.
