Designed by Yuichi Nara, Earth PLA celebrates the distinctive texture and atmosphere of diatomaceous earth through a simple, sculptural form. Its three-dimensional surface responds beautifully to natural light, with subtle changes in shade and shadow throughout the day creating a quiet visual expression of the passage of time.
 
The clock is produced using a traditional Japanese plastering technique, giving its surface a unique texture and tactile quality. Rather than concealing the character of the material, the design makes it the central feature of the timepiece.
