Takenobu Igarashi was one of Japan’s leading designers and multidisciplinary artists, with representative works in the permanent collections of more than 30 museums worldwide, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Known for his distinctive approach to typography, Igarashi also created logos for major international brands such as Suntory. His Eki Clock was originally designed for Sapporo Train Station in Hokkaido, where it remains installed in the station lobby as both a functional clock and public design work.

The original station installation uses two versions of the clock: a white face with black markers and an inverted black face with white markers. The simple graphic design reflects Igarashi’s approach to typography and proportion.

Handmade from aluminum by Lemnos craftsmen in Toyama, Japan, the Eki Clock is commercially available in White, Black, and Gray, the 15th Anniversary model.
