Designed by internationally acclaimed designer Shin Azumi, whose clients include lapalma, Magis, Desalto, Fredericia, Tefal, and Authentics, the Edge L combines traditional Japanese metal casting with a simple, sculptural design. Azumi’s work is also held in the collections of design museums including the Victoria & Albert Museum in the UK and Stedelijk Museum in the Netherlands.
 
The clock is made using a traditional aluminum casting technique developed in Takaoka, Toyama, giving the frame its distinctive solid form and sharp edges. The design reduces the clock to its essential elements, combining the character of a metal sculpture with the function of telling time.
 
Released in 2001, Edge L has remained a popular Lemnos design and was selected for the JIDA Design Museum Selection Vol. 17. Fifteen years after its original release, Lemnos introduced a black version with polished chrome dial markers, adding another expression to the design.
