Winner of the Kid Design Award (2019), the Fun Pun Color Clock was designed by Yoko Dobashi in collaboration with the Japan Montessori Research Institute to help children develop an intuitive understanding of time through the Montessori method.

Inspired by the concept of an “analog clock that aids in time management through the effects of color,” Fun Pun Color turns the clock face into a visual learning tool. Each hour is subtly divided into four quarters, using color and the natural pie-chart structure of an analog clock to help children understand the passage of time and organize their daily schedules.

The design also introduces mathematical concepts through the relationship between numbers, divisions, and time. While created primarily as a learning clock for children, its contemporary appearance and quality materials allow it to work beautifully as a timepiece in a modern home, classroom, or other interior space.
