Herstory is a timepiece built around a simple and inspiring story: a girl moving closer to her dream with every passing hour.
 
Three symbolic motifs of dreams—a balloon, butterfly, and shooting star—are placed at the 12 o’clock position. As the girl on the minute hand gradually moves toward them, she appears to reach out and catch them, creating a small story that unfolds throughout the day.
 
The hour hand represents the girl’s shadow and her “past,” while the minute hand represents her “present” as she continues moving forward. Together, the two hands express the idea of acknowledging the past while continuing toward the future.
 
The numerals feature an original typeface created by the designer, inspired by the movement of air and the gentle flow of a breeze, giving the dial a subtle sense of motion.
 
Below the center of the dial is a quotation by Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard: “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” The message serves as a quiet reminder to keep moving toward one’s dreams.
